Reehan Energy Services Company Participates in Conference Titled “Leading Excellence in the Reconstruction of Syria,” Organized by the American Society for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE)
The American Society for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) organized a conference titled “Leading Excellence in the Reconstruction of Syria,” with the participation of experts and consultants from Syria and other Arab and international countries in the fields of engineering, construction, marketing, and law. The conference aimed to support Syria’s reconstruction efforts by introducing modern tools for project planning, cost control, and improved infrastructure governance. The event was held at the Seven Gates Hotel (Sheraton) In Damascus.
Over two days, the conference included panel discussions covering topics such as investment laws in Syria, recent amendments to encourage investment and contracting companies, public-private partnerships (PPPs), dispute resolution in construction and foreign investment projects, and developing laws to protect foreign investors and encourage them to invest. Additional topics included project management, cost management, and other related issues.
Modern trends In project management focus on three main points: the widespread adoption of the agile methodology, which represents a new paradigm in project management; the growing prominence of the role of individuals within work teams; and the emphasis on sustainability principles and their integration into economic, environmental, social, and governance (EES) aspects.
Reehan Energy Services Company, represented by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Bassam Al-Darwish, participated in the dialogue session entitled:

Dr. Al-Darwish addressed the following topics in his presentations:
- Gaps in human capital and skills within the project management sector in Syria.
- Challenges of governance, transparency, and accountability across institutions.
- Institutional capabilities and the absence of standardized project methodologies.
- The role of digital transformation in modernizing Project Management Offices (PMOs).
- Strategies for building sustainable and proactive project governance systems.
- Lessons learned from international models in project supervision and excellence in execution.
Dr. Darwish highlighted modern trends in project management, which are based on three main points: the widespread adoption of the agile methodology, representing a new paradigm in project management; the growing prominence of the role of individuals within work teams; and the emphasis on sustainability principles and their integration into economic, environmental, social, and governance (EES) aspects.

The conference was attended by experts from foreign countries and the Gulf region, Syrian expatriates, contractors, real estate developers, law firms, engineering and economics graduates, and recent engineering graduates.
